Similarities between the codes and conventions of a school and sports magazine

In both sports and school magazines the masthead is usually restricted to one or two words, accompanied by strap lines. In both cases barcodes, along with date and prices are at the bottom of the magazine cover. It is a convention in sport and school magazines that only one person or figure occupies the page, with a close up and maintained eye contact. Furthermore, it is a norm for the figures to be holding some sort of prop such as a ball for a sports or books for a school magazine. In addition, selling lines, cover lines with different color fonts and puffs are to be seen. Both genres consist of a color scheme of whites, blues, reds and yellow.
